Great shot, Harry.
They look like two little old men hanging out.
Fantastic POV and details on the two eagles.
I particularly enjoy the snowy BG.
TFS. : )
No action, so compo is even more important: I think it is perfect. Lovely BG despite bad weather conditions, maybe an all bluish-grey BG would have been even nicer.

Whoa...the teleconverter sure works well with that lens, huh? I guess it's because it is a f2.8...and a Nikon. : )
It's a wonderful image! I'd be happy with one eagle...two is a real treat.

wow! what a beautiful pair! great antourage. very well done. tfs
Hi Harry, well you've answered my question with respect to the TC17E II. It's sharp. Its a great composition of these two in this pose. The stare especially is very impressive.
Harry...I am glad to see this image for a few reasons. I sure enjoy the composition, and the fact the exposure is very good for conditions. The tele-converter is something I was going to buy, but wasn't sure how it would work on this lens.(I have same)Perhaps the D2X is better at the higher ISO than D200 as well.TFS

Two for the price of one :o) Very good work Harry. I love your series of bald eagles in snow... Very well done and TFS
Again an exceptional image; you don't often see such images, taken while it is snowing; this adds to the atmosphere.
It looks like you've just climbed a mountain to shoot these two fellows just sitting there...

What a beautiful pair of eagles. the composition and exposure are spot on and the detail is wonderful.
PS the map coordinates are a touch out... If you zoom out enough they end up somewhere just off the coast of eastern Russia... (mine ended up somewhere off the coast of the sechelles...)

Just wanted to say "hello"! I am impressed after taking a tour through your beautiful gallery. I also enjoyed the pictures on your personal website. Absolutely amazing staff! This photo is just one of the many I liked! I wonder how do you approach all those animals? Do you use blinds or hides or are your lenses just long enough? I guess the most important thing is first to go to the places where they live.
The composition is perfect with well distributed empty space around the subjects. The subjects themselves are appealing and one of my favorite raptors. The background is outstanding. It isolates the eagles very well! I love the flurries as they give us a hint of the harsh environment these birds must live in sometimes.
The natural colors look warm and well saturated. I like the combination of yellow and blue.
The very good contrast enhances the details in the plumage and in the rock.
Exposure is spot-on! The details were preserved in both highlights and shadows and the cloudy sky provided a natural diffused light which cast no harsh shadows. Very well done!
Accurate focus on the two subjects! The details in the plumage are outstanding! The DOF was also well controlled although the sky would have made a great background even if not blurred.
This is one of the best pictures of bald eagles I've seen on TN! I'll add it to my favorites of course! Thanks for sharing!
With Friendly Regards,
