This Yellow-bellied Marmot should be grateful he lives in the Rocky Mountain National Park of Colorado, USA, rather than in Mongolia where marmots are a food source for humans. Cousins to squirrels, prairie dogs, and hedgehogs. These social and playful creatures are a favorite of tourists along the park's Trail Ridge Road.

Hello Franklin,
A super photo of this cute little Marmot. The detail is great and the exposure is right on the money. Nicely composed with beautiful natural colors.
I have only seen a Marmot once, and that was when Rosie and I visited Yellowstone back in 2000.
