It's not hard to see how the Buteo jamaicensis got its common name of Red-tailed Hawk. The high sun of central Oregon filtered nicely through the hawk's tail as it passed overhead of me.

Hi Lauren,
The Red-tailed Hawk is a beautiful bird so I enjoyed see it. I really like the backlit tail and the sharpness of the image against the beautiful blue sky. Also, I think you got good light underneath especially since it is overhead shot against a bright sky. TFS.
