[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
We have several Towhees living at the edge of the woods and feed along the edges of the Blackberries and Hawthorne Tree at the foot of our deck. This Towhee has become accustomed to my presence as he was just a few feet from where I was standing off the deck peering up at me to see what I was doing. Today the youngsters arrived to feed alongside their parents, as have the Chickadees, both Black Capped and Chestnut Chicks. The past few days the Black Headed Grosbeaks, both male and female have been hitting the feeders hard, and today I believe I saw my first Grosbeak chick, though I have only seen this one and a photo of the chick on the internet is a rare find that appears as the one I believe I saw. Have a great weekend everyone. Going to be busy the next few weeks... |

I was pleased to see this as I do not recall seeing this species shown on this site. Very clear image, great colors, and sufficient angle to see major identification markings.

Hello Steven,
Great shot of this attractive towhee. You are very fortunate to have one so close and not afraid of you. Wonderful detail and gorgeous color tones. Nice eye contact with a bit of catchlight visible.

Hello Steven,
Definitely a new species to me this "Rufous sided Towhee". Quite well captured from top to show its colors on wing. Sharp eye with good sharpness. Nice to see this beautiful bird.
Thanks for showing with useful NOTE,
Regards and have a nice WE,
