[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was hiking in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest when I came on to this Monstrous spider. When I first came up to its "trees" where it was spinning its web I noticed that it was only three twines across three trees. The strands were large in size and could not be broke by a branch falling across it, I tried. The photo is taken one on one size so it is the same size as you are viewing it, huge.

If anyone knows what type this spider is I would appreciate knowing, I've hiked a lot in the mountains and have never came across one with these colors and size.
Thanks

Strange spider, indeed! The focus is way too soft on him. Other than that, I think the picture is pretty good.. the colors are nice, and show how well the spider blends in with his background. The DOF is good, but the large bright area off to the right is distracting.
