[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Today Peter Borhringer and his son and Godson, Tom Peak and I all toured Mt. St. Helens for the 4th of July in celebration of the fireworks that once lit the sky for many days in 1980. This image is on the Johnston Ridge Trail leading to the Harry Truman Trail that will either intersect with Spirit Lake----or with the trail leading to Loowit Falls nearer the crater itself.
As you can see the wildflowers are at peak, and are spread across the landscape in every direction as far as one can see.
The workshop has an image of Elk just bathing themselves in a small lake below the end of the Johnston Ridge Trail just beyond the shadows in this image,

Hi Steven
Great landscape end very sharpness.Congratulation!

Hello Steven,
Remarkable DOF - both foreground and the mountain are tack sharp. I was there perhaps 10 years ago and wonder if the trees still float on Spirit lake.

Hello Steven,
A fine well-composed view of Mt. St. helens, the crater after the eruption well seen with the trail in the FG providing excellent perspective and color with the striking red Indian Paintbrush flowers along it.
The dark shadow provides a fine diagional dividing line from the crater.
Thanks with greetings from Sweden,

Bonjour Steven,

Bonjour Steven,
Magnifique, vraiment! A place I would like to visit. You show it from an exellent point of view, leading our eye from the path in front to the mountains in the back. How marvellous all these flowers close to the trail. Bravo and thanks for this inspiring shot.
Take care
