[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Located just south of Spokane, in Washington state, The Palouse is a rich farming area of some 3,000 square miles. It is somewhat reminiscent of Tuscany, in Italy, except instead of vineyards the main crop here is wheat and rapeseed (Canola).

The Palouse is a photographically exciting area to explore, in large measure because it is comparatively unknown. It is not a national park, and there is little in the way of guidance to this area. Some photographers are of the belief that landscape work is primarily wide angle. I have cropped this one....

Hi Bob,

I must admit I had never heard of the Palouse until I saw your pictures. This certainly gives the sense of wide open spaces. The colors and shadow are amazing. I just learned something else new - rapeseed is Canola. Without trying you are a great teacher.

Hello Bob,
Love the rich colors and the way the clouds are casting their shadows over the landscape. Nicely composed with just the right amount of exposure!! TFS.
I can't imagine how long it would take for a farmer to plant and then harvest such a vast area.

Hi Bob,

an nice picture where you can see that
the Autumn comes.
Nice the shadow.
I have never heard on what your write about the Palouse.
So you learn me something.

Hi an d Good Morning Bob,
Fascinating view Bob! Realy impressive the green and autumnal colours with cloud shadows and sky are great and you captured perfectly.
TFS this and have a nice Sunday!

Hi Bob,
That is why I bought the Canon 200 F4. landscape photography with a telelens can create some very stunning perspectives which a wide angle can't get. It is just what is needed to capture the essence of the landscape that creates the choise of the lens.
I like the overal brown town of the weat and especially the shadows casted by the clouds. The softness of the hills creates a very pleasant landscape to look at.

Hello Bob

Hi Robert,

Great shot of the landscape with the play of ligt and shadows!
The sharpness and POV are simply wonderful. The colors of the landscape are so natural, great! I like the Barley? grwoing in FG.
Great job!

thanks and regards,
Paras Bhalla

Hi Bob,
Great view of these pure open fields and sky.Nice shadows and good POV.

Hi Bob,

The poinbt of view leads our eyes trough the field to the top of the hill which is giving depth to the composition. The shadow of the clouds on the field has a special effet on the scenery. The good luminosity has a good effect on the colors. have a nice day.

I think you live in a very beautiful place, Bob!I the land of milk and honey!

Hi Bob,
The colors and lines in this image are impressive. The cloud shading on the crop are nice as they break it up a bit. Hope you are well, thanks for sharing.

Hi Bob,
that's what I call a beautiful landscape! And how you captured its essence. The clouds shadows! Just great, Bob.

During my days as a "Green" activist I defended a similar landscape with a treeless hill in Switzerland against a construction project in court. It was hard, you can't put a price on beautiful landscape. We convinced the judge with---pictures! We won the process in the end.
My best regards to you,

Hello Robert,

Amazing this landscape with the slowly rolling lines!
Wonderful late summer colours, seems like the grain harvest is ready soon...
Some fine contrasts too, with the dark green vegetation!
