This is the last "mug shot" from my series Most Wanted for now.. And is from a true thief, the Red Fox, I took this picture near Mount St. Helens, It was getting dark and We're watching some Quails and I spotted this Red Fox very closed to us watching and sneaking.. Ready to have a meal, in the end he went for it.. No success! thanks to the screaming of my daughter when she saw him coming out of the bushes.. :)

Red foxes are generally considered to be the most serious predator of free range poultry. The safest option known in poultry protection is to keep the flock and the fox physically separated, usually with fencing. A fence needs to be at least 2 m high in order to keep out most foxes, though on some rare occasions, a determined fox might succeed in climbing over. Surplus killing will often occur in enclosed spaces such as huts, with discarded feathers and headless bodies usually being the main indicators of fox predation.

Hi Everton!

This is a beautiful capture, the detail is great and color fantastic. I love these guys even if the farmers don't. Great note also, Thanks for sharing.

Hello Everton,
A different portrait of the red fox!
This is a fine fellow but not always a popular guest, I remember my grandmother keeping chicken which the fox found to be a great idea too...
Well focused, fine colour!

It was close that you became a witness of ruthless wilderness (my God, so many rhymes! ;-). I love that shot with the fox ready to go and jump on its prey, wow. The fill flash even gives a strange atmosphere, as if it was photojournalism. Superb sharpness and you were close! Great work Everton, I love it!

Ohhh Everton, this red fox is so cute, very nice colours, great focus and lovely composition,

Good capture. Focus is nicely centered of the face. Color and exposure are fine. The fox looks as though it is waiting in the weeds to ponce on an unsuspecting prey.

Great shot. I like how his eye is in perfect focus even through the grass. Nicely done.

Nice sneak shot of this Red Fox "thief", Everton.
I can see the cunning in those innocent looking eyes.
The face surrounded by reeds/grasses is well captured in the natural habitat of this animal.

Hi Everton,

Nice close-up of the red fox, you effectively caught him in a very sneaky position...we can read through his eyes that he is ready to catch something. Well done!
