[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the Woolly Bear Caterpillar (Isia isabella). It was taken on a wooden walkway and the effect is as shot. I like the way it appears to have an aggressive face closeup but from a distance looks so nice.

Folklore says that the amount of black in the bristles forecasts the severity of the upcoming winter.

Hi Mark
A good POV of this hairy caterpillar with some fine detail on the head - though you could have perhaps tried a different aperture setting to increase the DOF (f8 or greater depending on your camera's capabilities). Remember the closer you are to the subject, the shallower the DOF and you need to compensate for this.
