Hi Bob. You write good interesting words of wisdom . And a fine picture from a great POV looking out to your wilderness. Spring looked as if it was not to far away. I like the composition with the Aspen in the forground. well done TFS.

I like the idea of "caretakers".
I can identify with many of the old native American beliefs. They had a lot of respect for the earth on which we were born.
Your "Highland Circle" sounds pretty cool.
Wish I could have met all you guys back then. I was pretty much a hippie during the 80's, living part of the time at a commune in Murchison,in the mountains right in the middle of the South Island. The scenery there was a littlke different to this though.

Apologies for my belated reciprocation to your kind critiques on my recent picture I took during my visit to my native place in the Himalayas.
This is a great view from the cabin. All the elements in this picture right from the sombre sky to the trees in the foreground fit well into this vertical frame.
Thanks for sharing this lovely image from your archives.

Nice winter landscape Bob!
I like the composition with the FG trees adding to the perspective. Your note reminds us that we are supposed to be caretakers, not owners, of this planet like the N. American Indians said. One can speculate how much we care....
Have a good Sunday,

I'm touched by this delicate testimonial. The picture and the text suit very well and the former reflects the underlying melancholy of the latter. I like the dark, almost sad aspect of this picture very much and believe that you have spent a marvellous time of your life there.

Very nice view with the fg trees making very good perspective. The distant snow capped top is in very good sharpness against the moody sky.

Hello Bob, I think your wilderness must have made you feel closer to God. And you were blessed by Him to be able to live there - yes, as caretakers - a good name. We do not own - we are allowed to look after that which God has given us - for a season.
You will be sad to hear that our weather is cooling down a little. The leaves are beginning to drop. This is the best summer we have had in many years.
It's a lovely landscape and thank you for sharing

Lovely composition - a bit of heaven on earth if you will. God's country, that's what this is. Love the view, the texture, and how this seems to go on forever - this is as I imagine Heaven is...

I cannot take such nice shots when the weather is not so nice yet. I see you can all what you want at any weather. Sweet place, the most attractive POV and wonderful picture with amazing gamma of colour tones. I also like extreme DOF and details of the entire scene. Thanks a lot and best wishes.

beautifully captured atmosphere of spring approaching. I love the way you took all the elements into your frame like well arranged parts of a stage to create a pleasant depth from the foreground to the distant hills under a soft, heavily clouded sky. And I love the peaceful atmosphere created by subtle shades of grey.
With thanks, and best regards -
Jungian collective subconsciously,
P.S.: tastefully nice signature you are using.
