As I stood outside my rig, to take this picture, I was struck by thee quiet. The wilderness can be known for it's deafening silence and then all of a sudden "something' will happen. The loud crack of a branch breaking, then again.....and you know something is out there. In my case I knew this was an area where a cougar had been spotted a few times...waaaaay back in 2005.

The wilderness mountains were and are, in my blood. I lust after them as a mountain lion over its prey. I miss the wood fire as I tend it and I miss the3 soup ready in a cast iron dutch oven on top. I miss the rushing streams filled with rainbow trout and river otter.....and the beavers and mountain bluebird...and the list is like a zoo an a botanical garden.

The wilderness was my home for many years....This is Vulcan Mountain. The original may have been converted, however I do so much like wilderness images taken in Ansels style......did I mention it was 20 below zero when I took this? Taken at the bottom of my primitive road Empire Creek....way back when.

Dear Bob!

Your ability to enclose so many and so deep emotions in a picture and its accompanying notes impresses and touches me. After having read your notes, the view of your picture is different, deeper and it seems to me as if I can see you living up there. Memories, dear Bob, are so important and allow us to look in the future...

Kind regards

A stunning shot, Bob...
Yes, home is where the heart lies...

Namastay Bob,
What a terrific landscape. Just superb. Many thanks for sharing this beautiful black and white art work photography.

Bob—at first I thought this was too dark (from the thumbnail) but it is lovely. Well done with the composition.
