These ducks were swimming rapidly away from me and frankly they hide well in the image. They are of course Mallards; both males and females. And you already knew these ducks are monogamous.

I took this while snow was barreling down and I had little time to get up our primitive road. We were expected to get 2 feet and it was a time of week when snow plows didn't get to our small road for a few days. I have driven through 8 inches of snowy slush going uphill in elevation 1200 feet. I started in 1rst gear then to second, third and forth. By the time I got to my driveway I was back to first gear and barely moving...tires spinning...whew! The driveway right before I stall in the deepening snows.....

Mallards in snow...taken on a beautiful day in my wilderness....I have taken dozens of pictures here on this very pond.

Hello Bob,
A lot of atmosphere in this picture...some kind of view of a fairy tale landscape where we have to look through snowflakes to find the the mallards ducks. Somehow very touching and very expressive picture.
Un grand merci
Kind regards

Hello Bob.
Lovely shot of a winter scene. The Ducks stand out well against the dark water. Great composition with flock snow , good sharpness.Best regards Siggi

Hey Bob,
great shot. Even with the meny snowflakes we see good colours and the ducks.
Well done.TFS

Hi Bob,

The falling snow has a special effect on the composition of the scenery. The point of view is showing the mallard ducks moving away from the photographer. The trees are a natural frame to the pond. The reflection of the light on the snow is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

color tones and high density of the colors,
