[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I found these today on a place near the San Saba River. I wanted to photograph them before the predicted freeze tonight.

Lupinus texensis is almost exclusively blue in the wild. A random genetic mutation does occasionally create an albino white bluebonnet naturally. Texas A&M University researchers were successful in breeding red and white strains, creating a Texas state flag in bluebonnets for the 1986 Texas Sesquicentennial. Further research led to a deep maroon strain, the university's official color.

Bonsoir Angelina
C'est un merveilleux close up de ces jolies fleurs et les couleurs sont très jolies ,les détails et la composition sont supers.

Merci et au revoir ....JP

Hello Angelina,
Lovely lupins with clean strong colours!
The Norwegian lupins seldom looks like this, since they seem to have a blend of colours...
Well framed, good DOF and following fine details!

Outstanding representation of this Texas gem. Very well saturated colors, excellent sharpness and nice exposure for the cloudy conditions. Nice to see the white next to the blue. The POV was excellent in this shot. Keep warm!

Hi Angelina,
A very nice photo. I have never seen, or least never noticed, an albino bluebonnet. I knew nothing of A&M's accomplisments in the red and white hybrids. Thank you for the information and TFS this unusual capture.

Hi Angelina

TFS & Cheers
