|White Prickly Poppy|
While driving a back road looking for blooming cacti on the west end of Galveston Island I noticed a single white flower in the middle of a cow pasture. Upon investigating I discovered it to be a White Prickly Poppy, a flower that I had never heard of nor seen before a fellow Trekker posted a photo of one along with a very informative note. There are many plants with many buds about to bloom so I'm sure I will return for more photos.

Beautiful shot! You captured the delicacy of the petals...kinda amazing in contrast to those sticky stickers. :)
The colors are nice and sharp and the edges of the petals look great...you have that crispness going on.
Well, somebody in Austin is enjoying seeing this prickly poppy. I was in CompUSA playing with a touch screen computer and decided to check out the latest photos in the gallery. Found yours about the time my boss started hollering for me to go home. ha ha
