Cactus Flower
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Everywhere on the Island the cacti are in bloom and the bees are in a frenzy. Never have I seen the striped little insects so passionate in their quest for nectar. Seemingly oblivious to my presence, they burrow deep into the heart of the flower until they vanish from sight. I have never eaten tunas(the edible fruit left when the flower falls off) before but this year I can hardly wait to sample the hopefully delicious pods. From the color of the flowers I imagine the sweet delicate taste of cantalope or tart succulent strawberries. |

Hello Jim,
Superb macro photo!
Nice composition, perfect light and excellent sharpness details.
Colors are clean and beautiful.
I like the transparency of the petals.
The timing were good, it was "picnic time".
Congradulations and thank you for sharing!
My best regards,
Janette
Hello Jim,
Another Beautiful capture, seems you are showing some amazing macros (sorry I have been away) This shows beautiful colours and detail, with the bees enjoying the delicious nectar. Makes me want to try the fruit as well. Please let me know how it was, take care dear.

Hi Jim
Cacti and succulents have the most unique and beautiful blooms for being so prickly. The warm colours are rich and vivid. I love the detail in the centre of the bloom. It's great to see the blooms are being pollinated and fruit will soon appear. Did you try them?
Have a great day!
Janice
