Hi Tom

I would guess that this is an acacia - possibly a mimosa (mimosa are acacias).

A very striking shot - great colours andlighting - the black BG gives the shot that 'something-else'.

James

My guess was a catclaw acacia (Acacia greggii). Our place is covered with them and they're not very friendly...ouch! Often called the "wait-a-minute bush" because the "claws" grab you.

Great shot and like iris said, interesting lighting. I guess the relatively fast shutter speed coupled with the f4 created that light at night look. I'm still learning how all that works so I study everybody's settings. :0

Hi Tom and very sorry for the delay

This is a very interesting and eye-catching macro shot!
The strong colors and contrast here are terrific and really make the elements stand out very well.
The sharpness is also impeccable and all the geometric shapes create a lovely composition.

Bravo and TFS
