Well, It really turned out well...Beautifly contrasting colors...Great feeling of depth...Amazing that just setting your camera on the hood allowed for such clarity and detail...I am still mesmorized by the colors and the intricate depth of the foreground...Very nice photo...Good eye...TFS

Odd? No way...you know your pallet too well to really believe this stroke of genius was odd. It is a master work of contrast and color. That's what it is and it is going straight to my scrapbook.

This worked well. To me it looks fabulous. The different layers of colours look great. Maybe we should all use our car headlights as a piece of equipment. A wonderful effect.

Hey it never hurts to try out different things, and I think the headlight trick here worked pretty well. Looks like the photo could use a bit of a tilt to the left though.

Actually I think this should be called 'master stroke' It is an excellent shot with great colours and forms. Too often I see great shot like this - but the bottom of the frame is too dark - a problem you have masterfully overcome here.

That worked out nice Evelyn.
I always like the look of headlights on this type of scene.Or even a flashlight. Makes it look eerie, especially when it is live.
Never thought of taking a photo of it though.
I read a article in Practical Photography about lighting areas with a torch. Doing it with a car is something I didn't think of, but it looks like it works perfectly. I really like the effect of the headlights shining on the sagebrush. Especially how it created the shadow areas. It might be me, but shouldn't it be better if the photo was rotated to the left? Even the trees are pointed toward the right.
The different layers of colors and light are wonderful.

Outstanding landscape shot and a fabulous experiment of having the FG illuminated. Looks fabulous. The distant blue mountains and the brilliant sky with the cloud formations sets up a nice tone and depicts the ambience well. Exquisite POV to capture this scene. Very nicely composed and presented. Kudos.

I like this! Great contrasting colours between the grass in the foreground and the shades of blue in the far hills. The sky seems to match quite well colourwise to the grasses, beautiful and a great idea on the spur of the moment! Well done and TFS
Cheers Tina :-)

This is very cool, Evelynn.
What a clever idea.
Just like you to see and seize an opportunity when it arises.
The headlights give the sage a warm glow and sharp details.
in contrast to the cool colors of the mountains in the BG.
So many layers in different colors... A lot of depth.
TFS. : )
First of all thanks for the tips. I hope i'll have enough time to go in al sorts of great places especially for photography).
This is a terrific shot. You're right: i had no idea at first how the light worked in this photo. Then i read your notes and understood :)
Splendid game of lights and colors, resulting in a superb and very moody landscape. I really like the compo and the atmosphere.
Bravo and TFS
