this is a tiny little insect. the whole yellow flower complex is about 3-4 inches across. the insect looks like a wasp but any help on a specific ID would be appreciated. This was taken in the Coyote Hills Regional Park butterfly grove.

Hi Tom,
Splendid shot. Such brilliant yellow colour and the black BG makes it stand out more. The wasp adds movement and gives life to the shot. I like your POV and the wonderful light management. Very nicely composed. Kudos.

Nice shot Tom.
It definitely is a wasp of some kind, but which kind I can't say either.
Since it is so sall I guess you can't afford to crop it more, but if resolution allowed, I might just crop an inch or so off the bottom.
Lovely detail and colour though.
Good work.

Hello Tom,
excellent composition with POV, good colour, clarity and details
well done

Hi Tom

A great posting - the blocks of colour and focus are excellent. The wasp adds the extra!

selam Tom; wow excellent shot of this lovely flower and wasp, good details presented ,nice BG and POV well captured with splendid colours TFS

Looks like a toxin injector system to me. The black sticks out real well with all of the yellow. I reckon they don't have these in the UK (?Steve) but I have been stung by them numerous times and had to take Benedryl every time. They seem attracted to me.

Nice coloring and I'll toss my hat into the 1 inch crop off the bottom...it almost looks like yellow coral....no idea of what the flower is though.

A well composed shot Tom,

lovely colour saturation which is bright and yet subtle.
Fine details throughout.

Hi Tom,
those yellow flowers attract a lot of different insects here we can admire a wasp on this beautiful backdrop. Looks great with the black BG, mind you a tighter crop would have worked quite well too.

Très beau jeu de couleurs et le BG qui met le tout en valeur.

Am I looking at WEALTH. So much GOLD all over.

Looks like a paper wasp, yellow jacket or coral. Had them
in my backyard
Great contrasts captured.
TFS. Regards, Mario.

Beautiful job getting both insect and flower in focus. The lighting on the flower seems a bit harsh but still under control.

hej Tom,
It's a beautiful wasp, the sharpness is excellent, I like it, very well done.
Pozdrawiam - Roma
