For those that don't know, a major Hurricane named Dean is about to enter the Gulf of Mexico and poses a great threat to the Texas coast and Galveston. It is too early to anticipate where it might make landfall. Hurricanes are a "nature" related subject so for anyone interested, you can monitor the progress at this link; NOAA

Hello Jim,
Nice capture of a Mallard family: I notice that two of the ducklings are dark, which suggests a bit of crossing with tame strains, but they're free in the wild, so they must be wild!
Fine technically, this shot is also well composed with good lighting.
Hope Hurricane Dean doesn't wander your way!
TFS,
Ivan,

Get all your best photos posted before Dean gets ya Jim...and when these cannards take off in advance, you DUCK as well:-) Very nice and among your best...yet all are a great experience of learning and teaching eh?

Hi Jim. A very nice picture of the Malard with its young. rich colours and fine detail.I like the refections in the water. a nice POV. very well don TFS.
Nick..

Nice clear details with good colors, DOF, and exposure Jim..
Cute photo of your "wild bunch".
If it looks like a wild duck, quacks like a wild duck, and swims like a wild duck, then.. ;}
Well done.
Howard

Be sure to GET ALL YOUR DUCKS IN A ROW before that storm hits. ha ha

Another great shot!!!
Love the way the water's surface looks - like a piece of saran wrap rumpled by these little creatures and the breeze. Great family shot - all in focus, all well detailed. Lovely!!!

Hi Jim,

A lovely duck family! A nice setting with good colors. Fine details - I love the little one with his mouth open. Nice ripples in the water and good reflection. I've been following the hurricane and have my fingers crossed.

Hi Jim.
Wonderful image, the simplicity, subject, beautiful colours and composition are a delight. Great detail with sharpness, the ripples around them and rippled reflections.
Hope Dean is not to devasting, so much lost when they are. Take Care

Hello Jim, very nice familly portrait, excellent composition, well done,
friendly,
Pat

This is a nice sharp capture of mama and her brood. She does look proud. I like the inclusion of natural habitat. I suppose babes are old enough now to fly our of harm's way.
