Here are two that were NOT courting. They were trying to hurt one another. It's amazing how ferocious creatures this tiny and beautiful can be.
We have a few guards that hang out very close to the feeder, chasing anybody off who dares to get close. Of course, they can't be there all time and sometimes things just get too busy for them. I noticed one young male - a ruby throat with just a spot of red on his neck - would wait until a huge fight would break out on feeder #2 then very stealthily, feed on #1. He never relaxed though...he would sip, and look, sip and look.

I wish I could record the 'chip chip' noise they make the whole time they're hanging out. It's the sweetest little chirp.

Right now I have black chins and ruby throats. They don't interact except to fight. Ruby throats are usually the winners. The black chinned males back down after a few passes.

well done,
tfs & regards

Hi Angy,
Nice capture. You have a regular Hummingbird ranch. I can't believe they fight. Agressive little buggers aren't they. At first I thought it was a female yelling up at the male,"Quit acting like a fool and get down from there before you hurt yourself!!!" ;-) Nicely done.

TFS
Jim

These duo-birded pictures have your own special signature. Considering how tough it must be to get two in one, or for me simply one, you must have been at it some time.

These last two/two have appeared almost oriental in presentation. Not sure why...signifying the duality of all things perhaps, but highly symbolic non the less.

Hello Angy,
Another pair in Bossa Nova again!!
Great composition with both in flight and always in good title!
good sharpness, vivid colour and details
cheers
Tony

Hi Angelina,
Splendid shot!
A magical moment eternalized by its lens!
Perfect composition.
Excellent POV.
Thanks for sharing!
My best regards!

Beautifully crafted! I love this, the exposure, the communication these two seemed to be doing, and the humming I can almost hear with the top one. This is exquisite and really made my day. Thanks so much for sharing; if I could, I'd give you 50, but all I can do is hand over my two cents. :)

Hi Angelina,
Besides offering us good pictures, we learn and enjoy a good "bird story"...
Looking forward to the next...TFS, Marta

From one extreme to another. This is great action Angelina!
If I may say, I would have cropped it a bit less square and lost the two branches at each side.Or maybe even more for a good close up of them. You are so lucky to have this many around.
These birds fascinate me because they are so quick and busy.
There has to be a way for you to get a recording of them. That would be sweet. Then make it into a sound file for net.
TFS

Well done. and waiting for more.

You've caught them in action. They seem to like to dive-bomb from above. You're getting great focus on these. Do you use manual focus? It seems like autofocus keeps shooting to the background for me. Really well done.

TFS!
Reid

You did it again Angelina! Like I said before, I'm amazed that you succeed so well with those tinny birds. I have read that they could be very territorial and this is a perfect example of this behavior. I like this action shot a lot. This is very well done in a beautiful POV and composition, congrats again :)

Hello Angelina,
I love these shots of the Hummers, they're really cute and very beautiful. I particularly like the sharpness and the pose of the little one at the bottom. Beautiful soft background and a lovely composition.
Many thanks, Ulla
