This little hummer looks like he's asleep but I can guarantee he's not.
I went out to replace the sugar water in the feeder this afternoon and he attacked me. I don't mean he just buzzed over my head like his comrades tend to do...this guy came within an inch hitting me under the arm. Then he dive bombed me on a second run. I hurried and filled the feeder and he didn't hesitate to get back in there for a drink.

Looks can be so deceiving...

He also looks like a black-chin from this angle...and he's not that either. He has a bright red chin when the sun shines on it. I'll post one of those shots to the workshop.

Hello Angy,
Nice to see your posting after awhile!
This litter cuttie looks like he is just pretend to sleep and so he is so mischief to attack you!
good pov with clarity and much details on the hummer!
well composed and well seen
cheers
Tony

Hi Ange,
They are very territorial! I get the same treatment sometimes when I go out to fill my feeders. Nice colors and detail in this little guy.
scott

Angelina your depth of field is perfect! Just wipe that background away from the bird so that we will on focus on the hummer.
Nice lighting and composition!

Cheers!
Elton

He does look like he is sleeping doesn't he. Apparently he doesn't know not to bite the hand that feeds.

Hi Angelina,
which amazing history, I did not know that these birds were aggressive
well done,
friendly,
Pat

Hi Angelina,
A nice capture of this Hummy but the dark Bg here makes it a bit dull. I tried a lot to make it look better but I think due to picture size it din't worked. Anyway a nice capture with good details. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hello Angelina,

Still a nice shot of this bird, good colors and well composed. perhaps a little more light would have helped, but one always does not do what one wants. well done

Hi Angy
Interesting shot of hummingbird. I like the compo with bird on the right.

Unfortunately we heve here some noises and bed sharpness. Buckground is disturbing (the bird is not easy to see) Contrast could be a little bit better
Best wishes
Krzysztof

Hi Angy,
Great shot against a nice BG. Like the way it is perched. Mean little buggers aren't they.

Ha ha ha...that made me laugh: "I went out to replace the sugar water in the feeder this afternoon and he attacked me". It's just the way you put it it made me think of this tiny little bird trying to attack a person. Of course its not funny that you were actually attacked! :)
Nice image showing this mischievious little bird.
Good colours.
Well done,
Joe

Hello Angy

Perfect focusing,lighting and BG,Welldone.

Good Luck
Fartash

He looks cleaver and waiting, perhaps just for a split second. Enough time to record him though. Very interesting colors. And you still retain your quality of the ethereal. Nice Angel.
Bob

The attack of the humming Birds! Wow! good one - though I probably would have cropped it a little more. Kudos! Cheers, Klaus

Maybe that's just their way of frowning. :-) Either that, or he's pondering what spiders dream. :-) Excellent image as always! Nice interesting BG. Well done.

Great PoV, fabulous story!
There is a bit of noise, but not enough to be seriously disturbing to me

Are you sure you're telling the truth here? This looks like a sweet little humming bird, waiting patiently for a bit of food.

As usual, this is a wonderful pose, the composition is nailed, and the lighting seems just right. He really blends into his environment with his colors, but I really think his actions might be a tad exaggerated. *evil grin* He loves you, he really does.

hi friend,
Beautiful composition! Excellent POV and lovely colors! Take care Ana:)

hello Angelina

nice pose, excellent focus and framing of the bird on the image

Hello Angelina,
So this is a dangerous little fellow, who would think so!
I like to see how the plumage is shimmering in green, a pleasant composition!
Greetings,

Hello Angelina,
This is another cute shot of the little Hummer. Sharp details, fine colours and I like its pose in the glimpse of sunshine. I think I would have cropped away more of the rather busy background to get more focus on the bird though.
TFS and regards, Ulla

Hello Angelina,
This is quite strange behavior from this little one don't you think so. I think that he is becoming too friendly. This makes me wonder about feeding birds. Black-Capped Chickadee and Blue Jays could be a little aggressive too about food... Hum... I feed birds too and sometimes, I' not sure that this is a good thing...

As it for the picture, I like the fact that it seems to camouflage with its environment. Its colors are superb and I like this pose you captured perched on this little branch. Thanks,
Claudine

Good grab and anice story.

Angelina,
Am loving these series.
Loved the W/S by K9 madtex.
Now, you be careful with these critters; we, Bernardete & self want to see you this coming Summer "LIVE AND KICKING".
Great job.
