I think this is a female white-crowned sparrow but I'm not certain. I looked around the internet and couldn't decide.
So it's a sparrow! :)
This was taken on a frosty Texas morning and I'm so glad I hung my feeders. The birds have really enjoyed them. The deer too - - - seems we have a buck who knows how to shake the bird feeders. ha ha

Nice shot Angie. You caught him at just the right moment. The wind must have been blowing hard there too. It looks like the feeder was swinging in the wind. It would be great if you could get a shot of the buck shaking the feeder. How cool would that be?

Yup...it's a sparrow ok...and I have been seeing nothing but all winter...no bright reds, not a robin, no tits, no nothing...all sparrows...and now I see I was not alone...thanks for the memory:-)) K called I heard..

I agree that this is probably a Sparrow, and a fine one at that!
Its plumage and colouring are very nice.
You've great timing to capture this guy with a seed in its mouth.

Hello Angelina,
I think the birds really appreciate the easy food they can find during wintertime and in particular cold days when so much of energy is used to maintain body temperature!
This little fellow for sure looks healthy...
