I haven't ever seen a shot of these to closely related birds before in the same shot so when I realized that I had these two together I wanted to share it with you guys. On top is PYRRHULOXIA (Cardinalis sinuatus) and on bottom is the NORTHERN CARDINAL (Cardinalis cardinalis). I took this right at dusk. It was overcast and I was losing light fast. I was able to correct the exposure some in PP. On this same evening there was this male and a female Pyrrhuloxia and at least seven male Cardinals and three female cardinals all feeding together. There were more than a few fights over food.

Hello Billy,
beautiful pic of this lovely colourful Cardinals,
great work,

Hallo Billy
I am sure the one bird is dressed to go to a fancy dress party. A very impressive and delightful presentation. I just love the way the bird is looking straight at you and seems to be posing for you as well. The Cardinalis sinuatus is a real handsome bird and I must say that swanky and posh feather style is really stunning. Perfectly framed, good focused and pleasing to the eye. Congratulations. This is really an adorable image and a pleasure to look at. Enjoy your day.
Kind regards

Hello Billy,
I like it very much when a capture has more than one species in it, this is an excellent composition showing the differences between the different species, thanks for sharing.

Hey Billy,
Excellent shot of these two Cardinals, I love the POV on this and the way the bird in the background is looking towards the one in front, the soft greyish background is just perfect it blends so well with the colours of these birds, not sure what aperture you used? but maybe an extra stop down would have brought the foreground bird into focus a bit more, but other then that just perfect nicely done, cheers Rick :)

Hey Billy,
The title should read as:
between the look in the eyes of the Sinuatus and both their pstures.
Excellent image capture...

Interesting shot!
Lovely red color of the birds!
Good POV and composition!

Hi Billy,
You did a great job in PS to adjust the exposure, looks good to me..
I like the pose of the Pyrrhuloxia as it looks down on its cousin. Wish I had this specie here, I've never seen it.
Great post!

It must have been a fantastic show to see all those colourful birds at once. I didn't know that bird, the Pyrrhuloxia, it is beautiful. This is a wonderful shot, I love the background supporting the colourful bird facing the lens straight, that's nice. The rounded piece of wood gives lot of depth to your picture. Thank you Billy!

Hello Billy

What a snag!
Great job to get these two together.
The pyrrhuloxia is an exotic looking bird that I only ever see here on TN,great to see.
I am surprised to see the Northern cardinal in the same shot, well done.
Very good details and focus.
The colours are vivid.

Hi Billy,
This PYRRHULOXIA is a real beauty! I didn't know they exist! I always loved the mix between red and grey and look at this bird! This is a very interesting capture showing those two different but similar birds. Well seen!
