Hi Tabatha,
DoF is just right giving good detail to the plumage, I feel the composition is a little lacking as more space is required to the right of the bird, to look into. The light looks a little harsh and the highlights need toning down, this could be easily done in Photoshop. Overall a fair effort.

A text book quality shot. The plumage detail is wonderful, with natural, well saturated colours. The lighting is well done. A wonderful capture of a pretty but shy lady. A real madam. Hi Tabatha,
well yesterday I reviewed your male cardinal and made mention that I like the look of the female birds somewhat more and looking at this lady I stand by what I said-she is lovely!The male birds are very beautiful and are always a welcome sight but they are so very uniform in colour and as such not as interesting in my eyes.This female bird has a good colour palette with some of the red of the male plus bonus colours of buff and brown and a hint of even yellow.Your capture of her shows well the details but the colours seen somewhat muted,so I did a workshop for her as well with my take on how she could look otherwise.I hope that you do not mind my doing so.I like this photo and most of your others as well as you have such a good eye for those sweet little birdies.
