Well, Howdy Stranger!
It is nice to have you back. I bet that is the same pheasant that I got a few shots of there at the Baylands! He doesn't bolt as fast as most pheasants do it seems. I like the point of view showing the curvy tail and the beautiful feather patterns. It looks like you had nice sunshine to show the iridescence of the colors. Congratulations on your third anniversary. I'm sure you have been missed by a lot of your TN friends.

Very beautiful photo of the Ringnecked Pheasant. Very sharp and detailed with very vivid colours.
When I was a kid we had these birds all around the countryside in which I grew up.
We experienced some extremely hard winters which has all but eliminated this grand old bird. Your photo brings back many wonderful memories of those days.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful photo.

I am sure there will be plenty of critiquers to tell you that it is high time we see a posting from you again so I will refrain from doing it. I am also convinced that many will call you 'stranger' so I won't do that either. Then there will be those that will tell you that they sincerely missed you (and they would mean it), but that I have already done (and meant it). Something else I am sure they will say is CONGRATULATIONS on your 3rd anniversary, and that I will echo in chorus. So, here is the echo: "CONGRATULATIONS on your 3rd anniversary". May you still provide pleasure and companionship to this site and its members for many years to come.
You might have been a little rusty in your stalking technique, but definitely not in your photographic technique. The old skill and ability sure kicked in the moment you picked up the trusted S3 and the result is plain to see. A lovely POF to show that flashy tail and the iridescent colours on the pheasant's back. I like the 'over the shoulder' look (almost in disgrace) it gave you while it skedaddled. The only small nit (and as a nature photographer you cannot tell me more about the disgust one experience when this happens) is the unwanted and uninvited twigs that had to untimely jump in the way between the lens and the subject. There should be a universal law against those unruly and out-of-control twigs, grasses, branches, leaves, etc. that always appears at the most impossible moments (chuckle).
Well done MF and TFS.

Hi Manyee, I've never seen one of these guys so close before. Good for you, for your quick actions. You've caught amazing detail on this guy with beautiful iridescent colour. I like the slight blur seen in the tail. You had him on the move, and with all this you caught the eye. Very nicely done.
Congratulations on your 3rd anniversary, looking forward to many more.
