[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It is always a guessing game as to which lens to have on the camera. One often ends up with too much lens for the subject... as here. I think what makes this image work is the relationship between the heron's extended neck and the out of focus foliage pattern in the background. I do like the intensity of his/her focused stare.

Hi Evelynn,
we are neighbours today :o) I think you actually had the right lens here! It's allowed you to create a great POV and excellent framing. DOF is perfect and details are superb. I love the blurred plants in the background too, well done!

I love this photo - it's so unusual and it stands out. The framing is perfect, the photo is sharp, the colors blend into the the background, and overall, the composition is an A+.

Hello Evelynn, this is a superb shot, absolutely beautiful, with great deep colours, very natural, and the pose of the heron is unique, so close. The composition is beautiful too and I really like the head and neck of the bird crossing the frame. Thank you,

Another really great image from you. Look at the details even at this limited file size, it so clear and sharp. Colors are natural and beautiful. The soft BG really enhand the detail of the heron. I really enjoyed it. Thanks so much.

Hi Evelynn,

Great close-up!
perfect focus giving excellent details.
Love the pose of the heron, looks so concentrated....maybe ready to catch something!

Very well done!

Another fine image from Ridgefield. That must have been a fun trip. The BG gray gives it wintery look rather than late fall. The framing is especially nice in this composition.
