[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I don't think this arch has a name, but it's located in what is known as the Buckskin Gulch at it's confluence with the Wire Pass Slot Canyon in Escalante National Monument in southern Utah.
You can see my wife there to provide a sense of scale. Just to the left and out of the image, there are ancient pictographs of Antelope and hunters etched in the rock.

Using a person for scale in this is so doggone important. Otherwise...what? Wow! It makes the rocks look so massive...and isn't this in the middle of nowhere? I mean sure there are lots of folks who travel there but not too many....Super image. wow. You had a nice trip and came back with gold!
Sharp.
Real good colours.
Well composed in the 'frame'.
wow!

Hi Tim,
Great shot with very nice details, color and exposure. Agree with Bob, very good idea to give a sense of scale.

This is cool Tim. Name it. I would expect the first person to find and identify something like this should have the opportunity of at least doing that. The shot is good, you've used the light well to give us good detail both in colour and in the texturing of the rock. Having your wife stand under it adds very valuable scale to the shot.

Thanks, John

A fine piece of rocky topography depicted with a perfect exposure to provide the details of the rock face with its beautiful rosy-red colour palette Tim, a very nice landscape/rockscape indeed my friend. TFS and cheers,
Mehmet
