I was thrilled this day with my first sighting of Bohemian Waxwings and to top it off I grabbed this shot of one with a Cedar Waxwing next to it. Some differences identifying the two can be seen here. The forehead and cheek of the Bohemian, front bird, is rusty colored and the wings have distinctive yellow and white markings, both not seen on the Cedar Waxwing in the back. The Cedar Waxwing also has a yellow belly where as the Bohemian is gray like it's backside seen here. The Bohemian also has rusty undertail coverts where as the Cedar's are white. Bohemian's are slightly larger birds than Cedar Waxwings.

Hi Richard

Lovely shot of the Waxwings, and isn't it great to get a pair so we can see the differance between the two types, nicely composed with great poses by both birds, very good colours too.

Hi Richard,
it is fortunate to have been able to have got this capture as it is not often you get to see them side by side like this. The composition is well composed as it gives a very nice pov and the colours are good. The only thing I would of done differently was to have set the iso to 100 and the aperture to f/8 so both birds would be more in focus.Thank you for this uncommon pairing as both of these birds are attractive little creatures. Bob

Hello Richard,
Both species of Waxwing in the same image: a fine achievement! You also managed a pretty sharp and clear view in the tangle of twigs and set up a fine composition. Great opportunity for us Europeans to compare the two species.
Thanks for sharng this beautiful and unusual image, Richard.

Congratulations Richard.
Very well capture and thanks for sharing with us. One shot, two birds, way to go. Very nicely composed, with great detail. Love the very bright colors of yellow and red contrasting the mostly greyish body. Perfect natural setting for the shot too. I enjoyed it much.

Hi Richard,
Excellent shot of this duo and you have captured them well in this natural surrounding. Very impressive sharpness and colours with fine light and exposure management. Nice poses presented. I like the way one of them is looking over its shoulder. Excellent POV and composition. Kudos.

It's a "two for one sale" on waxwings! Great job showing them together and getting eye contact from both!

Wonderful lighting, perfectly exposed and wonderful composed. :)

Hallo Richard
A pair of gemstones without a doubt. Two masked beauties all in one image. This is just a stunning capture with all technical aspects being perfect. The bird in the foreground displays elegancy at its best. You have managed to capture these birds in a firm pose and serious glance. Very nice lighting and perfect rich colours of the bird. I especially like the yellow tips on the tail feathers. Close-up work is well done and real sharp. Thanks for sharing and have a most enjoyable day.

Hello Again Richard,
Very nice capture of one of my favorite birds, I love the POV it shows the colors and marks with optimal results. :)
