My son just called in that your state has ten inches of snow! It's a good thing you took your walk when you did - must look quite different today. I love the contrasts in this shot - the grass turning green surrounding the fallen pine tree. The other trees seem to be forming a circle around the deceased - probably saying prayers for it.

Hi Bob. What this Jane is saying more snow for you. As you say bob you can not make a natural wild garden you must just leave it to nature. even one thas has been looked after will in time revert back. You have captured a nice forest view. with the falelen tree. good detail and natural colours.and as always interesting notes that must be read.
well done TFS.
You have a good week ahead.

The snow must protect all that lies beneath it over winter. We expect all would die - but no, God knows best - the earth is the Lords and everything in it.
Looking at your winter and now your autumn pics has taught me a lot Bob about life up there. Thank you

Your photo makes me feel right at home. I've spent many, many hours in places such as this, and I love the sights, sounds and smells that they bring.
Nicely composed, with all of natures wonderful colours. Great notes!
PS. We're having a Mission Conferance this week, so I've not been able to get on the computer as much as I'd like.

"taking this image to share with you.... along with these simple words"
I like this picture very much. Let me say it with these simple words. It's, from my point of view, one of the best you have ever posted. It has a particular atmosphere, alsmost spiritual, it's just what I would call nature's beauty at its best. It's also peaceful, yet delicate and warm.
Together with your deep and touching text it gets an even wider dimension.

Beautiful scene superbly captured. When I walk in the forest, I always wonder if I am the first person to see this sight or to tread on this spot. When I was younger I would always have to see what was over that next hill. I guess I am still like that always searching more with my eyes now than my legs.
Great work my friend.
