House Sparrow ( Passer domesticus )
My back porch is full of seeds. It seems I must fill the feeder every other day. My birds are eating more food than my wife and I combined and together they are messier than my grandkids! So I must keep it short today. My daily chores seem to have this new addition of filling feeder and sweeping porch clean...and hoping I don't get mobbed. I have what I fondly call "food groupies"...sort of like teens who follow pop stars around...but in my case it is a small plastic bag filled with seed...and to think I wondered if I would ever get bird shots. Now there is a line-up!

hello Bob

superb close-up shot of this lovely sparrow, with fine POV, DOF
and framing, for the framing i love that you leaved
a good free space in front of the bird,
looking at the sparrow's pose and his wing plumage
it is giving me the impression this image could be a lovely painting,

Aaahh so you have found the wonders of seeds! I scattered some in my garden today and literally within seconds a female Blackbird hopped down and started stuffing her face :-)
Very detailed and tack-sharp.
I like how he's looking up making the viewer wonder what he's spotted.

The more you feed them, the quicker the food disappears!!
You poor fellow having to clean up the mess after them!
I love the look of this little fellow's pose Bob. He's got his head on an angle and is waiting so patiently for you to fill the feeders and sweep up the mess on the floor

Hello Bob,
splendid portrait of this very cute House Sparrow
perfect use of natural lighting, lovely colours and focus is just perfect

Bob, this male House/Tree sparrow seems to be content with life, thanks to the nourishment you are providing your birds.
The picture is just wonderful. You have got very good focus on the subject and the colours on the bird are well recorded.
With the bonds you have fastened with them, your birds are certainly going to make a beeline here on TN. So click away and line them up one after the other. We are all eyes!

Namastay Bob,
He He He... What a funny pose. It looks to me as if it is saying Hi Granpa look we are messy. Excellent pose. Lovely details and nice composition. I think these fellas are giving you some good lot of exercises. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hello Bob

I like the pose, like it is trying to size you up.
The pov is excellent.
Very good capture of this house sparrow.
I love the chirping of these guys, even in the coldest part of the Winter they are one of the only birds that can be heard during the cold days.
TFS your food groupies.

Hi Bob,

A nice close-up image of the House Sparrow which is wondering about the intention of the photographer. The details and colors of the bird are clear and sharp. The light brings out the colors. Have a nice day.
