[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Maylfower Gulch is south of Copper Mountain and close to Fremont Pass in Colorado's summit county, and is a part of the aesthetic Ten Mile mosquito range also close to Breckenridge.

on the right is Fletcher Mountain at 13,951 feet (4266 meters) and to the left, just out of view is the Matterhown like profile of Pacific Peak at 13,950 feet (4266 meters again), just due east and emmediately behind Fletcher in this photo is the uniquely shaped and very fun to climb Quandary Peak at 14,265 feet (4362 meters), it is being obscured by Fletcher Mountain.

This was taken last week and shows that there is still alot of snow in the area, I was postholing or falling up to my knees into the snow trying to get to this spot to get the shots, and at 10,000 feet (3058 meters) it was very tiring. There are mines further up, right below that ridgeline and Fletcher, but I just didn't have the energy to go that far up.

A Gulch is a small V shaped valley or narrow gorge usually with a small stream in it. In this case Mayflower Gulch is a glacier carved gorge.

Paul,

Very nicely done Paul. I think it was well worth walking in deep snow to get this shot. The POV works very well here. This picture has very good contrast between the snow and blue sky. Overall, it is a very enjoyable shot. TFS.

Best Regards,

Martin

You've done very well here with your composition, but I am surprised to see how much snow you still have! But I guess that's how it is in the mountains!! I do feel that this photo would have been more effective if the exposure was a little more even, and it looks like you've cropped the image quite a bit(which kind of ruins the quality of the shot). But other than that you've done a nice job,
TFS

Hi Paul,
A stunning vista of this untouched piece of nature. I've been in this area in the summer, and have to say that it looks so different from the winter scenery.
The composition is perfect, with the creek sort of leading you into the photo.
TFS,
Niek

hello Paul,
A most beautiful landscape, taken from an excellent low point of view. I like the way our eyes go from the foreground through the snowcover and trees to the mountain range. Very well seen.
Thanks a lot for this picture
Anne

Hello Paul. Excellent perspective in tall format. I like the detail of the composition with white snow on the ground and hill. Stunning against the blue sky. Well done and best regards. Jusni

Nice photo Paul! This one is very very nice! I can really sense the nautre in this one, the rushing water, the cold air, and big mountains, I thinks its coming back to me. I can't wait to return to a plac like this, but some day, its coming, I can feel it! Thanks for sharing this with us Paul! Best Regurds, Josh Lewis.
