This is certainly an eyeful of beauty. I like the triangular transition of color steps climbing all the way to Mt.Jefferson a very nice capture. I really enjoy your Autumn color shots.

Another lovely autumn shot from you here!
The composition here is indeed terrific and i love all these diagonal layers: from the corner in the FG where we have splendid and vibrant colors, to the thick layer of coniferous greens and finally to the upper corner in the BG, with the impressive mountain and the blues - this is are really special!
Correct me if i'm wrong, but i do get a feeling that the shot is a bit tilted to the left...
Anyway, still a great job!

Hello Evelynn

A wonderful composition.The power of the triangle.
Lovely colours and lighting.
The scenario is too ugly to imagine,that would be so devastating.
I will just take in the beauty of the here and now.
There are some really neat ridges and levels as the eye is lead to the summit of Mt.Jefferson.
We just don't have those majestic peaks here in the east,but I don't live far from Whiteface mountain,and that is biggy as eastern standards go.

Nice image, Evelynn. I love the combination of fall colors, evergreens, and then ending with the mountain in the bg. Nice DoF throught. My hunch, though, even before reading Horia's comment, is that you've got a bit of a tilt here (I was wondering if the mountain was a bit asymmetrical, which is possible, but then the trunks of the evergreen seem to be tilted at a similar angle -- about 5 degrees to the left.)

Mount Jefferson is a dormant volcano. Let Jefferson sleep...:-)
I'll sit on the fence concerning James Parker's Kaboom theory.
Concerning the photo, I'll give it a go:-)
Nicely done with these diagonal lines. Beautiful autumn colors. And Mount Jefferson is definitely very visible in the background.

Hi Evelynn!

I don't understand why this magnificent picture has not come more into notice. It's simply beautiful. The composition is perfect, leading the spectators eye through the picture and to the main subject, the sleeping volcano. Moreover, the different layers of colour are superb: the autumnla red and yellow, the always refreshing green of the firs, the lovely blue sky and the mountain in it... What do we need more to be pleased?
