|Preening while waiting for the tide to change. As beautiful as these birds are they are often infested with lice and spend a lot of time cleaning their plumage. Lake Maria Sanchez, St. Augustine, Florida, is actually a tidal creek that has been dammed. It is shallow and provides good hunting for wading birds. When the tide begins flowing in through the spillway the birds begin to hunt.|

Very nice capture of the heron at rest and shooting in dim light condition yet showing a good exposure on the body.
Perhaps I would crop the top and try to include the legs inside the frame. But I suppose you may not have the time to spare before the pose is gone.
