It's all the rage now...You've heard of bobsledding and snowboarding, but have you heard of the brand new US sport of bird sledding...Birds are lining up and every opportunity to take a short slide then glide and fly upwards...

Hi Bob,

This is funny! I didn't know Quails knew what to do in snow. You even offer proof that they can fly although I think half the time they forget that they can. Of course their feet are usually warm here. I guess the snow is so cold they are happy to get up in the air.

Jane

Hi Bob,
What a hilarious performance! Excellent capture of these Quails in winter sports action; good POV and composition, great DOF, sharp details.

All Right Bob,
How much did you pay these Quail with seed to perform for you? I'll just bet they were enjoying themselves immensely. A great shot that is not normally seen as many people do not pay as much attention to the wildlife, and especially birdlife that surrounds us every day. A great shot is this,
Well Captured,
Steve

A real goodie from your recent archives Bob! I like the action and frozen poses as this line of california Quails negotiate the snow slope with the leading one resorting to flight.
The exposure in the snow, composition and sharpness are perfect.

Namastay Bob,
A lovely capture of these beautiful quails sliding. Excellent composition and sharp details. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Nice series. I really like this. I assume this is a set of combined images of the same event. If so, it is very fortunate you were set up to capture it at the right time.

The new camera I bought can take continuous frames at a rapid rate up until it fills the the memory card. My memory cards are 16 Gig Extreme III. Hope I get an opportunity to capture something like this some time.

Great presentation.

Hi Bob.
It is simply fantastic scene and funny pastime. I cannot imagine netter posing of the actors and photographing of the bird-sledding. I also am amazed with brilliant reproduction of the snow-drifts. You have reflected every light and colour tones. Timing is brilliant too as well as the nice framing of the scene and cropping of an image. Bravo. Unique photo reportage.

Great action shot, buut I think the leader is cheating - he's flying!
Great shot

Hi Bob,

The image is very interesting and the action is very well captured. Just wondering if this was shot at the top of the roof where they turned into winter Olympics ski slope. Excellent sharp details and TFS.
