[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Julia (Dryas iulia)

After a few days of absence I'm glad to be back, and I bring a new collection of desert butterflies, like this Julia.

Note:

It is native from Brazil to southern Texas and Florida, and in summer can sometimes be found as far north as eastern Nebraska. Over 15 subspecies have been described.

Hello Everton,
Beautiful photo with the butterfly in well saturated colours and it stands out very good against the OOF BG. Great sharpness and details in a nice composition.
Regards,
Peter

Hello Everton,
A fine capture of a rather tattered Dryas iulia, a species of Heliconiid that I have not seen before. It shows up sharply and well with its wings open against the OOF natural green BG.
Thanks for sharing this,
Ivan

Hi Everton,

This must be the first time we have been neighbors! Julia looks as though she has seen better days. She must have had a difficult trip to Phoenix. Still very pretty though with the lovely orange color. A nice pov showing off her opened wings, body, head and antennae. Good details throughout. I have seen very few butterflies so far in Tucson.
