Pipevine Swallowtail Butterfly (Battus philenor)

Let me start explaining that choose to have the photo blurred and have only the butterfly and the flower focused, well it did not work as expected but still a nice picture.

The butterfly ranges from southern Canada southwards across USA to Mexico, Islas Marķas and onto Guatemala and Costa Rica.

In the United States, the butterfly is found in New England down to Florida, from Southern Ontario (Canada) to Nebraska, Texas, Arizona, California, Oregon and New Mexico.

Hi Everton. This butterfly looks like it has seen better days. You have captured a good pose on the flower. You have lost the detail in the top left wing . But this may be down to the blue on the left which is blurred is it a flower. TFS,

Hi Everton. Good POV for thi old but magnificent butterfly.

Hello Everton,
This is the Pipevine Swallowtial, Battus philenor, clearly having survived a storm or two... Thanks

Hi Everton,
I like this picture despite a problem I think it has: the lighting is complex. THen there is the softness in the image, which actually makes it more beautiful!
Very well done!

Hi Everton,

It seems strange that you are seeing so many butterflies in such bad condition this early in the season. It's easy to see how beautiful it was. This Pipevine Swallowtail is hard to shoot because it never seems to settle down - the wings always seem to be in motion. You managed this one well.

Hello Everton,
We all try different things from time to time and that's what keeps it interesting. Nice image of this tired and worn out little guy. It looks like it has had a tough time of it as of lately as evident by the condition of it's wings.
As has already been stated, this particular butterfly is usually difficult to capture anytime, because it is always flitting about. TFS.
