Mainly, notice that like most (but not all) buttercup flowers it has five separate petals that are yellow (sometimes white). Buttercup flowers have numerous stamens with slender, yellow anthers surrounding the green center. That green center is composed of a cluster of several distinct, unconnected pistils (the flower's female part which will develop into small, dry fruits known as achenes.

genus Ranunculus

These blooms were about the size of a USA quarter (25 cent piece).

Taken as per usual for me... hand-held, macro setting, auto everything... some PP work.

“The most perfect way of seeking God,
and the most suitable order,
is not for us to attempt with bold curiosity
to penetrate to the investigation of His essence,
which we ought more to adore
than meticulously to search out,
but for us to contemplate Him in His works
whereby He renders Himself near and familiar to us,
and in some manner communicates Himself.”

Hi Larry,

I haven't seen a buttercup since I left the east coast. They are a wonderful memory of my childhood. This little flower is beautiful with marvelous colors and details. I love the composition and the background.

Another amazing image Larry!!
Your camera really picks up the fine detail. Love the bright yellow colors of the petals and perfect exposure!!
I just notice some in bloom the other day as I was walking the towpath.

almost same photo as the previous one with a change
of the colour tone of the flower, another beautiful flower photo,
fine POV, beautiful warm luminosity, excellent sharpness
and details of the flower's petals patterns, TFS my Ranger friend
