[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Mount Rainier National Park was established on March 2, 1899, and encompasses 235,625 acres, ranging in elevation from 1,610' to 14,410' above sea level. The "mountain" is an active volcano encased in over 35 square miles of snow and ice, surrounded by old growth forest and stunning wildflower meadows. Geologists consider this mountain to be an 'episodically active' volcano, meaning one that will erupt again some time in the future even though it may be quiet now. Mount Rainier is the tallest volcano and fifth highest peak in the contiguous United States.

Lovely landscape shot Julie,
Beautiful colours, sharp detail, nicely composed and excellent POV.
Thanks for posting, have a good weekend.

That is one of the prettiest parks I have ever visited, photo ops abound! Great capture, lovely colors.

I am a sucker for a good landscape, especially in the mountains. This mountain looks to be a great place to wander with a camera. This photo would perhaps be even more striking if the red flowers could have been framed as a foreground directly in front of the white snow of the mountain. The dark pines along the ridgeline would also provide a wonderful transition or mid-ground for a striking photo. Of course, that's easy for me to say, sitting here at my computer and not being there.

TFS, Deeb.

Beautiful view! The colour, sharpness and details are excellent!

Hi Julie, Gorgeous image, saturated colours, great sharpness and fantastic composition. Beautiful, TFS :)

Hello Julie

Magnificent landscape. The POV is perfect. The wild flowers in the foreground gives wonderful perspective. DoF is perfect. The shot is full of colour and atmosphere. It's like being there. Lovely work. Thanks.

I think the flowers in the foreground of this shot are perfect, I also like the rocks too. Alisha saw this and said "Wow that's beautiful" and when I said her Auntie did it she said "Wow, it looks like a postcard!" I think it is postcard perfect too! So when are we going to get up at 4am and travel there?? Hopefully not too soon, my legs are still sore! LOL
