Its been in the mid to high 20s but went out any way to see what we could find. And turned out to be pretty cool day. I watched a Bald Eagle take down a swan and a juvenile Bald Eagle take down a duck and a per of Bald Eagles playing in-flight. It was well worth putting up with the cold. Eagles are my favorite bird and are amazing to watch in the wild. I will be posting more in the next couple days. Hope you all have a great weekend and thanks for looking.

Great Capture Tom,
What a neat shot you have posted today. Wonderful detail and color. It must have been really exciting watching the eagles hunt in their natural habitat. TFS.

Hi Tom,

This is a great action shot showing the bird in flight and the prey in the claws is just a bonus. The OOF background just improves it as well.
I presume you are talking Fahrenheit when you say mid to high twenties which is definitely far too cold for me. Our lowest temperature mid winter is still above 32 deg F. It is raining, miserable and "cold" here today at 22 deg Celsius!!!
Regards

Robin

hello Tom

what a great action shot of this Bald Eagle with his duck catch,
with fine POV and framing, i love that it is a little bit from far
and we can see the eagle's environment, superbly focused
with excellent sharpness and details,

i have one question for you Tom and please i want you
to answer to my question, i see you have the Nikon D300
that has 51 points AF system, for this photo i want to know
from you what AF are you using or for this kind of photos

- are using the Dynamic Area AF ?
(that i think is for movement subjects)
- or are you using the 3D Tracking (51 points) ?

i am asking you this question because i am interested
about Nikon D3000 or D5000 that also have
the Dynamic Area AF & 3D Tracking but only with 11 points

please answer to my question Tom
