This is what I was thinking as I viewed this sunset today and listened to the many geese gathering here for the night at beautiful Germantown Lake located at C.M. Crockett Park in Warrenton, Virginia. Germantown Lake occupies about 109 acres of the park is the result of a flooded quarry built by the original German settlers.
Canada geese are found here in abundance year round. Today they were taking off and landing on the ellipse of open water in the otherwise frozen lake. I have posted other photos of this lake when it was bone dry and cracked where we could walk on the bottom. We have seen it through many seasons and two of our children were married in this beautiful park.
Walking through the woods you may see cardinals, bluebirds, red billed woodpeckers, blue jays, robins, cedar waxwings and many other species of birds. Along the shore of the lake is a great place to see dragonflies, skimmers, frogs and many fish. This is an excellent lake for fishing from boat or shore.
You can bring your telescope and camera for an evening of stargazing with the local astronomy club. The park is closed after sunset except for the club events and the night sky is an awesome sight. "Virginia is for lovers" (of nature).

Love the colors and I can almost hear the geese. The only problem I can see is that your horizon is crooked.
Hello Eileen! Nice geese. Very fine sky. Fantastic colours. Wonderful landscape. Original image. Well done!
