[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi Everyone,
Today Evelynn and Jerry Smith caught up to Lucy and I in Gardiner, Montana. We had a bit of a visit then went into Yellowstone's Lamar Valley. I pulled over to let them catch up and while we were waiting a Mountain Bluebird landed on a dead bush right beside the truck and here is the result. Lucky capture I would say.

Hello Rick
Lucky but perfect capture.
Thanks for sharing
Razvan

Hi Rick,a very lucky catch and rather beautiful one at that.He sure is a handsome looking little chappy with such intense blue plumage against a fine light blue background. The focus is crisp and well detailed and the crop is well thought out and balanced. It sure would be nice to live in a place like Yellowstone full time given the great shots you getting and such good variety.Keep 'em coming and show the world why nature matters and just how wonderful it is.It has occurred to me,Rick, that it is becoming hard to find something to critique in so many of your shots of nature as they are so excellent as you present them.A fine image and thanks for sharing it with us.

Hi Rick,

This one is a bird that I have never seen. I guess that it doesn't visit the locations that I go to. Your shot is well taken and presented. If I could quibble a bit, it all seems too blue, and the top of the photo could be better. But, the bird is sure shown well. Very nice work! TFS.

John

Hello Rick,
That's how it always seems to happen to me too. Some of my better shots came about from a spur of the moment unplanned event similar to yours.
The bird is simply gorgeous in appearance and color. The focus is tac sharp and the pose gives us a great view of this beautiful birds plumage. Perfectly exposed and shown with fine detail. Well done!!
Ron

Lucky maybe, but you were out and ready to make it,

well done
