Hi Everyone,
We leave Yellowstone this year with many new experiences and observations made. Some good images, but a bit of sadness too. As while we were in Yellowstone, I had to put my Border Collie, Jasmine down. We had 14 and a half years of fun, love and blessings with her and for that I will be eternally grateful. This image reminds me of her serenity and beauty.
Rick

The birds in this image are Sandhill Cranes being the tall guys, Canada Geese the medium ones and the smaller ones are assorted ducks. They are on a gravel bar in the Yellowstone River in Hayden Valley. There was ice crystals in the air and it was -17 Celsius.

Hi Rick,

It does seem like a sad and serene view. A person could just sit there and let thoughts come and go. We've not had a dog in our family, but we have had cats. Each time one has had to leave us, our loss is deeply felt. Pets become such an integral part of one's life. Thanks for the photo and the unsaid 1,000 words that it conveys. We extend our sympathies to you over the loss of your dog, Jasmine.

Regards,
John

Hello Rick,

A splendid winter picture, the fog care for a great atmosphere.
Excellent composition with the water birds in foreground.
Very well done, TFS.

Hellow Rick,
Suddenly I feel cold, great image with a icy cold but tranqual atmosphere.Intersting points in all foreground, central and BG. Nice perspective with the water way bending through the photo. Sorry about your dog I know the sadness as I also lost my staffie after 14 great years with her.

Hello Rick,
Sorry to hear about your companion of so many wonderful years. I still remember the dogs I had as a young boy, those memories will remain with my forever.
Your image has a magical yet sad look to it also, even the birds seem to be bowing their heads in sorrow.
Nicely composed and showing a quiet peaceful and serene atmosphere. Super job!!

Hi Rick,
I am so sorry to hear about Jasmine.
Losing a pet is so so hard. Nobody ever told me.
A magic image you have chosen to honor her memory.
Other-worldly, utterly silent... beautiful.
May your fond memories of her comfort you.
TFS. : )

Hallo Rick
I want to compliment you on this really striking image filled with a variety of birds. The whole atmosphere captured is amazing and although a bit morbit, very pleasing to the eye. I would have loved to see this view for myself in real life. The entire scene is just so beautiful, and very pleasing on the eye. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.
Anna
