Black-Eyed Susan

"Rudbeckia hirta (common names: Black-eyed Susan, Blackiehead, Brown Betty, Brown Daisy, Brown-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia triloba), Gloriosa Daisy, Golden Jerusalem, Poorland Daisy, Yellow Daisy, Yellow Ox-eye Daisy) is a flowering plant in the family Asteraceae. It is an upright annual (sometimes biennial or perennial) native to most of North America, and is one of a number of plants with the common name Black-eyed Susan with flowers having dark purplish brown centers." - Wikipedia

“Nature never taught me
that there exists a God of glory
and of infinite majesty.
I had to learn that in other ways.
But nature gave the word glory
a meaning for me.
I still do not know where else
I could have found one.”
- C. S. Lewis

Larry, Great shot of the black-eyed susan. Well done. Thanks for commenting on my eagle. I appreciate it. Have a great day, Bill

This is a beautiful shot - nicely cropped - of this flower. The background framing of the 2 that haven't yet opened adds to the composition. It is a little noisy - have you tried NeatImage? Really makes a difference! Otherwise - fantastic work, and thanks for sharing it!

Hi Larry,

I miss seeing Black Eyed Susans! So it is a real pleasure for me that you have posted this fine picture of one. The colors are superb and the details are razor sharp. I love the composition with the buds and the leaves.

Hello Larry,
what a special nane and i could the its reason. The black eye is well shown and the yellow petals really give a good contrast. you have given a good dramatic view from the top.
Beautifully presented with softness of the background.
