I find reflection fascinating. Reflection has meanings outside of nature (such as reflecting on ones past)...but these frozen reflections from snow on a Red Maple have more symbols in them than clouds.

That image year was one of our worst snowfalls in a couple dozen years, however it made for hundreds of pictures of beauty, for when the sun came out it changed the whole landscape.

I do hope you enjoy!

Hello Bob,
Beautiful photo of snow, ice and light. Excellent composition in natural colours.

hello Bob

the frozen branches with the winter beautiful luminosity
brings atmosphere effect to the image, as i already have
written you many times i love the POVs you choose to shoot
your photos and on this photo i love the way the foreground
it is framed by the background trees, TFS

Beauty truly lies in the eye of the beholder and your picture of a frozen maple proves that, Bob.
It is an artistically composed picture of a segment of frost thawing away gradually.
Well done and thanks for sharing this image that makes me reflect.

Frozen beauty, Bob!
Nicely composed!

Your archives are enormous and you chose a real beauty Bob.
The way you caught the sun shine through the snow on this maple makes this a fine example of your professional talent. The composition is perfect too.
Thanks and have a good weekend,

Ciao Bob, fascinating composiotion full of poetry, splendid light, very well done my friend, have a good week end, ciao Silvio

Hi Bob,

I like the silvery background here, especially since it's all natural and happened coincidentally. Makes the frozen floral elements and snow on FG stand out well. Great job with the sharpness too.
TFS and have a nice night/sunday MF!

Hello Bob,
Sorry, missed this fine winter-shot. Like you I like reflections and backlight pictures. This one is most beautiful with its fine tints of blue, silver and white. Almost heavenly!
Very well seen.
Kind regards. Take care.

Hi Bob,fantastic winter composition and another time the best use of light to create a magic effect, top sharpness too. Thanks for share, have a nice Sunday,Luciano.

Hi Bob,

The reflection of the light in the snow and on the ice is enhancing the colors. The point of view is showing the details of the frozen branches. It is well framed. Have a nice day.

Hello Bob,
Amazing composition by you. I am impressed seeing you back on TN with same vibes. Keep it up.
Regards-Dr Ranjan

Hi Bob,

Seems strange to see part of a winter wonderland after having just turned the a/c back on. A very beautiful and artistic presentation of this frozen Maple Leaf. I love how the ice shines against the snow. The patterns are wonderful - I can see either Africa or South America there - never was good with maps so I'm not sure which one it is. Hope this winter is kinder to you than that of 2007.

Hello Bob,
I don't look forward to another winter but this reminds me of the opportunies for icy photography that may come with it! A beautiful composition showing lovely details, light and colours.
Many thanks and best wishes, Ulla

Hello Bob,
Great shot with fantastic exposure. White is always hard for me to get the right exposure, but you managed quite well.
Even though this is a beautiful scene, I have to admit I hope I don't see it too soon this year, last year was a duzy here in Ohio.
