|One of my favorites, the American Lady butterfly. This photo was taken in the Catskill Mountains of NY State, on a dirt and gravel road I like to call "Butterfly Lane", due to the damp spring fed hillsides that provide tremendous habitat for many species of woodland and flower-visiting butterflies. The road is often covered with White Admirals, Red-Spotted Purples, Commas and Question Marks, all nectaring salts from the damp ground, and myriad other butterflies such as this one, various skippers, Swallowtails, Monarchs and many more at the flowers.|

A butterfly photo with 400mm lens. Very interesting Eric! I have used my 400mm lens for dragonflies but never for butterflies. I will try. Your photo is fantastic!
Excellent composition, nice BG, wonderful colors and good sharpness.

Lovely, sharp capture of this American Lady. I have yet to catch one nectaring on a daisy as this one is though. Choice light has brought out the classic hues of this attractive butterfly. Well taken!
Clear, sharp with wonderfull colours and good composition.
Good work - TFS
