Monarch on Goldenrod at the Edwin B. Forsythe NWR in NJ. There were literally thousands of them during migration. The blue in the background is water, not sky. This was late day light, so the tones and contrast were at their peak. |

Hi Eric,
Congrats on this fine composition, you nailed it! Magical light has captured this monarch's true hues and in sharp, striking contrast with the golden yellow and deep powdery blue. Very well taken!

The colours in this image is glowing with warmth and is very pleasant to the eye. If I look at this scene I see summer, sunshine and lots of happiness as yellow is the colours I mostly associate with these feelings. Thanks for sharing a great macro. Best regards.
