|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|This is the resident jaguar at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. He is probably my favorite subject at the zoo. This is one of the first photos I took of him with the DSC-f828. If you live near Seattle this is a great place to capture images or just get some practice for a trip. Not sure if I compressed this picture too much, this is my first posting.|

Hi Jason, welcome to TN. I hope you enjoy your time here, it is a great place to learn a lot about photography and nature. I suggest you look at the photos and read the the notes and critiques given, and start doing the same yourself. I have learnt more from my mistakes than I have learnt through praises. Ask questions too. Most here are only too happy to help.
Very good pose of the jaguar, good colours and details. He is a little soft (unsharp), as I think you are more focused on the bamboo behind, but that improves with practice.
You can compress/resize the photo to 800 x ?pixels, the largest side is to be 800 pixels. So, yes, this could have been larger. But well done.
The best word I can give you is "Practice".
Welcome to TN, Jason! A great start to your stay here! Great expression, excellent POV and DOF. It seems just a touch bright, a little tweak in curves would help.
Thanks for posting,

What a great expression on the jaguar, Jason. Was he saying, "AAHHHH..." to the doctor? Great timing on your part to catch that interesting pose. A sharper and larger image would show off your gorgeous jaguar even better. A warm welcome to TN, and thank you for sharing. : )
I just went to this zoo, its very nice.
I like the rain forest there too.
