|My first sighting of Turkey Vultures (Cathartes aura) in the wild!!!!|
I could have been very happy with one, but found two of them together! They were seated on the top of a tall, large tree.. and against the sunlight. Call it a record shot, but am happy to capture that breathtaking view :):)
My first Turkey Vulture, i had seen at Drumlin Farm, Lincoln. That bird was an injured bird, so was kept in captivity. Such a large bird it was! I wondered what it would feel like when seen in open.. and then, there they were! At Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary, Topsfield.
Check the WS for a slightly clearer view of one of them (the RHS one).

Good morning Ruby,
Very nice sighting and capture this Turkey Vultures in wild and with natural ambiance also.
You mentioned that it is a record shot, but I think this is not a bad capture and I am sure you will be capture a good nice close up in near future and share with us.
Thank you for this picture.

So you have become aquainted with our Turkey Vultures. I always said they have the face that only a mother could love:) They seem to be very numerous this year as I have been watching them here in our area since mid March.
You managed to capture a nice close shot of these rather unique looking birds. I also like your WS image as it shows the single bird off in good detail.
