More formations at Mammoth Hot Springs. An absolute fabulous place to visit. Also probably the most dangerous piece of real estate on the planet! These formations appear as "ice", but the white ones are the older and decaying formations, while the colorful ones are active and more recent. |

interesting image. whether hot springs comes from touching the magma formation. Is it sign of fragile earth area in future contributing volcano or earthquake? this is wonderful work. good to see. tfs.

I agree this is a fabulous place. I had a blast making photos here and be impressed by the travertine. Your photo looks slightly OOF. But it does show the different colors and layers nicely.
