At Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary.. gone there birding after a long time. This is a Red-tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis).

Was very happy! Felt like sharing many a things.. but then on the way back home, found two police men shoot an injured deer.. on the street! The deer was breathing, and very much alive when they shot him/ her.

Feeling bad. Sad.

This didn't happen in India..

Anyway, in search of healing touch.. where else, but Nature. Smile.

Hello Ruby, Nice to see a post from you again!
Even though you can't see it's face, you managed to capture a fully opened wing shot of this beautiful Red-tailed Hawk from behind. It's neat to be able to see the rich colors and unique banding in it's plumage from this perspective. I love the way the tail feathers are fanned out fully, displaying the reddish color which gives it it's name.
Hope you don't mind, but I wanted to try a WS.
PS. Sorry you had to witness the scene with the deer...right now is mating season here in the east and many deer get hit by vehicles every night. Here in Ohio we average about 25 thousand deer vehicle crashes ever year :(
